My first ever theatrical experience was a trip and a half. Nathan Lane is a genius and is as private a person as I am. The musicians, cast and crew were top notch and I’m sure that I’ll be in touch with many of them in the future.

Roger Bart, Daniel Davis and Peter Bartlett are fine actors but more importantly a pleasure to be in the company of.

"The Frogs" played for 12 weeks On Broadway and I enjoyed every week and the weeks before in rehearsal. I played two roles – Charon, The Boatman on the River Styx and Aeakos, his twin brother.

“Me and My Shadow”

Actor John Byner provides the voice for the mischievous forest creature Gurgi
in Walt Disney Pictures' full-length animated feature "The Black Cauldron."

“I've done a lot of voices for a lot of cartoon characters in the past but the character pictured above (to the right of the screen) is the one I'm most proud of. It took five years to complete the movie and Gurgi still gets lots of e-mail.”

“Me and a Prisoner”

“Show biz wise......Rodney Dangerfield 'Got no respect, no respect at all!' It may have something to do with his prison garb. MY FIVE WIVES was filmed in Vancouver, Canada. Five very attractive young ladies were hired to play the wives of Rodney. A few weeks into the shoot Rodney appeared depressed. I asked him what was troubling him. He answered 'None of my wives can ACT!.'.......No respect....no respect at all.”

“Me and an Outfit”

“One of the perks of show business is that people you admire--you find out later--also admire you. Such is the case with Nathan Lane. On our first ever meeting, when we met to talk about his new play 'Frogs,' he greeted me with 'John Byner, my hero!' In two minutes I felt as though I had known him all my life. He is a most talented fella.”
